Nino's was awarded Most Outstanding Business in Victor Harbor at an awards night at McCracken Convention Centre

Friday night, November 8, belonged to Nino's at the Beyond Bank Business Victor Harbor awards held at the McCracken Convention Centre.

Nino's at Albert Place was awarded Most Outstanding Business in 2019, Most Outstanding Hospitality Business, Employer of the Year and Megan Jackson from Nino's was awarded Employee of the Year.

Owner of Nino's Simon and Kirsten Pitman thanked Business Victor Harbor for organising the awards evening, his staff and the customers who support the business.

Kirsten said the future looked bright for Victor Harbor and was optimistic about the city's economy.

"There is no better place to live and work than in Victor Harbor and we are so proud to be awarded Most Outstanding Business," Kirsten said.

Business Victor Harbor Hall of Fame inductees were Mark Taplin, Brett and the late Deb Steinert, Scott Nottle and Peter Toop, who was very much overdue to be inducted, having started in business in Victor Harbor in 1950.

Other award winners were Junior Employee - Montana White, Agribusiness - Gino and Mandy Pacitti, Outstanding Retail Business of the Year - Chit Chat Newsagency, Most Outstanding Service Industry - a tie between South Coast Realty and Harcourts South Coast, Trade and Industry - Bailey Homes, Best Tourism Experience - SteamRanger and Best Dressed Couple - Mark and Sam Forde.

The SteamRanger was a popular win, as it is the longest volunteered railway track in the world (84 kilometres from Mount Barker to Victor Harbor) and 30,000 visitors enjoy the trip annually.

Business SA chair Martin Haese was the guest speaker on the night and the Master of Ceremonies was the entertaining Mark Thwaites.

Business Victor Harbor's Graeme Jameson (organiser of the event) and major sponsor Beyond Bank were thanked during the evening.

More than 200 business leaders packed into McCracken Convention Centre to enjoy a three course meal and students form Victor Harbor High School expertly prepared the canapes.
