With the end of the year drawing near, community groups, sporting clubs and local businesses are preparing their floats for this year's Christmas pageants.
The Salvation Army is hosting a free Community Christmas Carols event at the Encounter Conference Centre on Sunday, December 8, which includes pre-carols family fun from 4.30pm and carols at 7pm.
The Christmas Where the Angas Flows event at Strathalbyn on Friday, December 13 sees the pageant start at 6.30pm, before carols at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens, and a fireworks display.
Over at Mount Compass the interchurch council is holding its annual carols at the wetlands on Friday, December 13, with a barbecue beforehand at 6pm.
The annual Victor Harbor Christmas Pageant and Carols by the Sea event will be run by the Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay Rotary clubs on Saturday, December 14.
Before the festivities, a Santa Fun Run will kick off at 5.15pm, with the pageant starting at 5.30pm. Carols by the Sea has moved from Warland Reserve to Grosvenor Gardens.
The next day, Goolwa will have the Christmas spirit with its pageant and festival.
The free Goolwa Christmas Festival kicks off at 6pm on Sunday, December 15 with the pageant travelling through the town and along Cadell Street to the oval. At the oval there is entertainment like sideshows, stalls, carols, and a visit from Santa, before a fireworks display.
On the same day is Yankalilla's carols event at the Agricultural Hall from 4.30pm.
Port Elliot's Christmas Carols event is on Tuesday, December 17 at the Town Square.
