Thursday Social Bowls were won by Randall Rabone, Roger Watt and Allan Pearce and in 2nd place were Peter Willson , Alan Manning and Bruce Williams.

Wednesday Night Owls competition is gaining momentum and Rink of the Week was won by COPPER COASTERS. The leader board now stands at the Lakers on 119, A Night on the Green 2nd. In Div 2 Whalers are top with 149 and Hi Five are 2nd with 121. In Div 3 Mechanic Owls lead with 130 and Moonlighters have 101.

Ladies Thursday pennants Div 1 saw Encounter Bay defeated by Pt Elliot 45-70 gaining 2 points They are now 3rd on the table. Div 2 also lost to Pt Elliot 49 -71 and gained 2 points. They are now 6th. Heather Cochrane, Liz Warner, Margaret Queale and Anne Calvert played well with a score of 28-16.

Open Gender Pennants Div 1 had a draw with Victor Harbor 51-51 gaining 5 points. They are 9th on the Premiership Table.

Div 2 Blue were defeated by Pt Elliot 49-64 gaining 2 points to keep them at 4th. Grant Wilson, Wally Humphries, Brian Chigwidden and Mike Kelly had a good game on 23-14.

Div 2 Gold were defeated by Langhorne Creek 76-53. Div 4 defeated Clarendon at Clarendon 61-55 gaining 10 points and remaining on top of the ladder. Darryl Keane's team had a successful day winning 26-8. Div 5 defeated Yankallilla 61-53 gaining 10 points and staying at 5th.

Saturday Social Bowls winners were Charlie Norman, Tony Brookson and David Bell.

Afternoon Overall Winner - Blue Sky (K. Collinson/David Folkard . Overall R/up Fox & Hound (J. Spaan & Gary Fox). 1st game winner The Crow Boys (Gary Hancock/Kevin Lewis), 2nd Game Winner The Humble Heroes (Ern Taylor/Trevor Wilson).

Thursday Pennants: Div 3 gained 8 points and a day off due to a forfeit by Goolwa. Divs 1 and 2 played Encounter Bay on their home ground with both of PEBC sides winning their games. Div 1 scored 70-45 overall and with 2 team wins 10 points were earned. The side sits 2nd on the ladder .J. Lind 28-19, H. Taylor 28-10. A.Faull's team had a tough battle and lost 14-16.

Div 2 also did well 71-49. With two teams achieving good wins this side also earned 10 points. and third position on the ladder. (J. Cruise 28-11, H. Edwards 27-10, L. Fox 11-28).

Saturday Pennants did well, with 4 of 6 teams having overall wins. Div 1 did not do well at McLaren Vale (35-91)! All three teams lost heavily. Jim Gamble 13-31, Ian McLeod 15-27, Ian Carlile 7-30. No points scored!

Div 2 Home to Encounter Bay Blue were happy with an overall win (64-49) adding 10 points to season's score. (Barry Trowbridge 27-14, Chris Jones 23-12, Roger Wattison down 14-23).

Div 3 away at Victor Harbor had a close game, winning overall 58-55. Anthea Faull's team was up by 8 shots 23-15, which covered small losses by the other two teams (Kevin East 14-18, Elmore Schumacher 21-22) and earned the side 8 points.,

Div 4's game at Willunga was lost 43-65. Two teams did well! Joan Cruise's team close all day lost on the final end 16-17. Win Syson's team struggled to get on the card! Down 17-3 at afternoon tea hoped to do better in the second half. It didn't happen and the team lost 9 - 31 - with a considerable blow to pride!. Phil Beckett's team also played a close game with Phil giving a hat trick performance. One shot down on the card, opposition holding three shots when going to the head, his last bowl trailed jack taking it back to a waiting PEBC bowl and winning the game by 1 shot(18-17). Well done!

Div 5.home vs Victor Harbor. Won their game 57-52. Two teams up, Pearl York 20-13, Cheryl Owen 25-12 and one team down Norm Taylor 12-28, and the side earned 10 points.

Div 6.played at home vs Myponga. With many players sick and others away, the previous two games were forfeited. However club members rallied to fill vacant spots this week and the team was there in full throttle winning the game 91-28. Eric Castle down 10-20, Helen Edwards 49-5 and Ken Weeks 32-3.

Twenty eight teams from local and Adelaide clubs braved the conditions for the President's Day competition at the Victor Harbor Bowling Club.

There were seven two game winners in the 15 ends format. Phil Hollow's team from Port Elliot was best able to cope with the conditions to record a score of 59+ 26 to win the day from Rob Wilkins of Victor Harbor in second on 59+18 and Leigh Philp from Encounter Bay in third on 58+18.

Crack the Jack - Only two pairs mastered the weather to record 3 wins from 3 games. Nik Pippos and Leith Davies finished with 79+15, but were relegated to second by the winners, Graham Wilson and Jenny Todd on 81+20.

Bridgestone Super Triples - There were 36 teams vying for prizes. There were 9 two game winners with the best result coming from John Brown, Ken Waller and Bob Vowles with a score of 57+ 33 to edge out the team of Ray Fry, Alan Desfontaines and Rob Kaplin on 55 + 19.

Men's Pairs Final - The men's pairs final produced quality draw bowling and a tight score line added to the enjoyment for the spectators. Needing 3 on the last end, Mike Hendricks held 2 shots until John Brown drew a close second shot to seal the game for himself and Ken Waller with a 14-12 score.

Pennant - Division 1 had a comfortable win at Yankalilla despite dropping one rink. Sue Wilkins' four dominated in a 31-10 scoreline.

Division 2 had a much tighter game with three close scores. Helen Anderson and Val Secomb led their teams to two wins and enough to top Port Elliot. Di Hoppo in Division 3 had a day out with a score of 34-6 to get the side a total of 8 points against Strathalbyn.

In Saturday pennant competition, Div 1 Blue had an 11 shot win over Strathalbyn with Ernie Elf's four producing the goods again to win by 14 shots.

Div 1 White teams all had close games away at Encounter Bay with Lyn Thatcher's and Dale Speck 's teams getting up by 1 and 2 shots respectively. Nik Pippos had a close loss on his rink for the side to record a draw and come away with 7 points.

Div 2 also had a close tussle with Goolwa at home to record a 58-52 win. Ray Fry had an 8 shot win, while Fred Kelly had a draw with a 22-22 score.

Div 3 were unlucky at home to Port Elliot. Despite winning two rinks with new skipper Stuart Taylor falling over the line by 1 shot it wasn't enough to cover the loss of the third rink and the side went down by 3 shots.

Leith Davies scored a 28-12 win, but it wasn't enough for the side against Strathalbyn. The final scoreline of 52-57 meant only 2 points for the day.
