Noarlunga won the toss and elected to bat. However, it was Encounter Bay starting the day off well, with Magor bowling Jason Scarff with the first ball of the day.
Encounter Bay's other opening bowler Zrim struck soon after, picking up Burgess in the 4th over. Magor picked up another in the 10th over and Noarlunga were 3/35, but David Scarff and O'Connor came together to steady Noarlunga's innings and see the side to the first break without losing another wicket.
Those two stuck together and put on a 42 run partnership before Lintern bowled O'Connor for 20. Peat joined Scarff and the two saw Noarlunga into the second break. Scoring was harder for Noarlunga in this session and they went into the break at 4/86.
Puckridge struck in the second over after the break, picking up Peat's wicket and this sparked a mini collapse for Noarlunga. Puckridge picked up another wicket and then Zrim came back on for a second spell and got a run out, knocking a ball driven back at him on to the stump. Noarlunga was now 7/130 in the 49th over.
With Scarff still steering the innings, Trapalino came to the crease and the pair set about bringing their side to the end of the innings, working the ball around the field and picking off the bad balls.
Scarff passed 100, making his first ton for Noarlunga, and the pair went into the last break with the score on 143 and saw out the last session without either batter getting out. They finished with an 88 run partnership, with D Scarff finishing with 120 and Trapalino 38. Noarlunga finished the day on 7 for 218.
