After winning numerous awards for her short stories, local writer Margot Ogilvie has just completed her second full-length work and invites the public to the launch of One Empowered Woman.
Do you sometimes feel too shy, too damaged, or too old to possibly be loved or useful?
One Empowered Woman offers hope and encouragement through the inspiring story of well-known local woman Lyn Barnes, who rose above decades of physical and emotional abuse to establish BEE (Believe, Educate, Empower).
Along with her team at BEE, Lyn has transformed the slums of Arusha, Tanzania into a place of hope, supporting a Maasai village through years of drought, building three nursery schools, and empowering widows to start small businesses to support their families.
Find out more about Margot Ogilvie's latest book on Sunday, November 24, at 3pm at Encounter Hall, 13 Leworthy St, Victor Harbor.
Books will be available for purchase and both Lyn and Margot will be on hand to sign copies.
City of Victor Harbor mayor Moira Jenkins will be in attendance. Afternoon tea will be served.
