Victor Harbor woman Mary Virgin celebrated her 95th birthday on November 3 with 40 family members and friends at the Hotel Victor.
Mary Galpin was born at Tooperang and married Bob Virgin at Willunga in 1949.
Together the couple had seven children, 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, many of whom travelled from afar to celebrate Mary's birthday.
Mary and Bob spent the first years of their marriage on a farm on Virgin Road near Victor Harbor and had their first three children there, before moving to Naracoorte to become dairy farmers.
Upon retirement they returned to Victor Harbor to build a new home in Leworthy Street and became very involved in the golf club where she was the C Grade club champion one year.
Later in life Mary gave up golf and moved on to become an accomplished croquet player with the local club.
