Encounter Bay Football Club has enlisted the expertise of former SANFL player Scott Wendelborn as its senior coach for 2020.

Wendelborn played for West Adelaide in the early 2000s, was in association and zone teams from 2003 to 2015 and represented SA State Country six times. Between 1998 and 2017 he played a total of 338 A grade games.

With a coaching stint at Ironbank under his belt, he is seen as a highly regarded and respected coach by his peers.

Scott, his partner Kasey and their children have recently relocated to the southern Fleurieu, and the club is "extremely excited" to welcome the Wendelborn family.

Also on the Bays' coaches list is Jamie Davis (B grade), Tom Pearsons (senior colts), and Jamie Lang (open women's).

All players, supporters and members are invited to a 'meet the coaches' session at Encounter Bay Oval on Thursday, December 12.

A light 45-minute training session for the senior men and senior colts will begin at 6.15pm, with meals available post-training.

It is the only men's training session for 2019 as part of preseason.

For supporters and members, teas will be available from 6.30pm.

Women's sides have begun preseason and anyone interested in trying footy is welcome to attend.

Training sessions are Monday and Wednesday nights from 6pm at Encounter Bay Oval.

For more information, call Jamie Lang on 0433 879 580.
