Newlyweds Karen and Stan Simpson have got their marriage off to a tigger-iffic start, after joining with family and friends for a unique orange themed celebration at their home in Victor Harbor.
On Saturday November 30, Karen (nee Stepney), Stan and their 140 guests along with their 2000 strong collection of Tiggers, celebrated the occasion in style.
"Being a little quirky, we had a themed wedding to match our collection of Tiggers," said Karen.
"All guests were asked to wear a touch of orange and they all participated. The wedding was a sea of orange and we had a magical day."
The couple boasts a 6 x 12 shed dedicated to the classic Winnie-the-Pooh character Tigger, which is filled wall to wall with a variety of collectibles.
The quirky passion started many years ago when Stan's daughter decided she had outgrown the many Tigger toys that adorned her bedroom.
Stan preceded to remove all the Tiggers and pack them away in a cupboard, but it wasn't long before they resurfaced.
When his friends heard the story, they began bringing around their own discarded Tiggers for a bit of a laugh and soon enough, Stan's cupboard of Tiggers had grown into a shed.
"Since then, it hasn't stopped and when Stan and I met in 2012, we started going on Tigger hunts," said Karen.
"Our friends are always trying to find us that one special Tigger that we don't have, but unfortunately, it's not so easy to find Tiggers these days."
Karen said the wedding was a special occasion and thanked all her and Stan's friends for attending and getting involved with the theme.
"Everywhere we looked was orange and it was a good laugh. Some people wore Tigger pyjamas, orange zip up suits, scarves, hats, you name it.
"Two people even found t-shirts with Tigger on the front saying 'I do' and were running around getting everyone to sign them."
In a special ceremony, guests were also asked to blend sands into an empty wine bottle, kept from the day Karen and Stan met met at A Day on the Green at Peter Lehmnann wines in 2012.
The happy couple are yet to plan a honeymoon, but make sure to have a Tigger with them wherever they go.
