The Christmas and New Years period is always a special time for the Fleurieu Male Choir, who take much delight in visiting aged care facilities in Victor Harbor and spreading the festive cheer.
It's a practice that is always enjoyed thoroughly by the group's performers as well as residents who respond to the choir by joining in singing the many well known songs performed.
Activities for the group in 2020 are set to kick off once more on Friday February 7, when the choir will begin learning a number new songs to ensure a fresh program for performances in the new year.
Excitement is also looming for the choir who are counting down the days until June, when the state's biannual Country Choirs Festival hits Victor Harbor.
The event, which is being hosted by the South Coast Choral group, will see the Fleurieu Male Choir join performances with other country choirs from across South Australia.
The Fleurieu Male Choir will sing two of their own songs and join with others for a combined choir item.
During the year, the group is set to continue performances for aged care residents and other community groups.
Any men who have an interest in singing and want to check out the choir are invited to join the group at an Open Day and practice on Friday February 21.
Assistance is provided for any who need help to read music.
Weekly practices are held on Fridays at 1.30-3.30pm in the Yilki Church in Giles Street.
