Junior golf has become a priority at the Victor Harbor Golf Club and to prove it, they have just completed a very successful junior golf clinic.

On January 6 to 10, the Victor Harbor Golf Club held a junior golf clinic every day, culminating in a nine hole competition on the spectacular Victor Harbor golf course.

There were 21 juniors aged from six-years to 12-years who took part and the club is very proud to have two ambassadors in their junior program in Tony Modra and Simon Pope.

Victor Harbor Golf Club junior development co-ordinator Linda Hodgson said the program would not be able to occur without a great team approach from everyone.

"We have had outstanding support from volunteers, parents, staff at the club, PGA professional golfers and backed by the My Golf program," Linda said.

"Allan Telford of My Golf has backed the club's initiative on promoting junior golfers with resources, technology programs and time. I am so excited on behalf of the club to see the future of golf in our area."

Linda said the members of the Victor Harbor Golf Club have embraced the children's presence around the club in an "enthusiastic way".

"It is just fabulous to see the children learning the game and how to play golf.

"They are having fun and interacting with everyone at the club and with each other," Linda said.

"This is just the beginning for our foundation of junior development at the Victor Harbor Golf Club."

All the participants in the club's junior clinic received a complimentary membership until September 30, 2020.
