A group of South Coast residents have felt helpless watching Kangaroo Island burn and have decided to do something about it. They will hold a fundraiser in the form of a 'Black Tie & Boardies Ball.'
It will be held at the Middleton Pioneer Hall on Friday, January 24. The goal is to raise $20,000. One of the organisers Jen Watts said donations are welcome for silent auction items, raffle prizes and a lucky dip wine draw. Entry fee will be $50 per person and will include dinner and fun entertainment.
"We'll have wine, beer and soft drinks on sale and a bunch of fantastic items to purchase by silent auction such as some magnificent paintings and sculptures by local artists, dinner vouchers, a miniature red bull helmet signed by Daniel Ricciardo and a signed fireproof top from Craig Lowndes' 2019 race kit," Jen said.
The organisers are very conscious that donors want to see the money going directly to Kangaroo Island. "We will strive to make this a zero cost event, with every cent going straight to KI," Jen said. To donate or for more information contact Jen Watts on 0417 812 529 or firstname.lastname@example.org
If you can't attend, donations can be made straight into the KI Fire Fundraiser Account, BSB 085 005, Account 55 996 8151.
