The Board of Business Victor Harbor has lost its chairperson, Nick Gormley.
Mr Gormely has decided to step down effective immediately.
He had served in the position for six years.
Business Victor Harbor executive officer Mark Richards said Mr Gormley had given outstanding service to the business community.
"We are incredibly grateful for his enormous contribution.
"A formal recognition of Nick's selfless contribution will take place at an appropriate time in the near future," Mr Richards said.
"As chairperson, he has served for more than six years, selflessly putting the position before even his own business."
Mr Richards said the future was extraordinarily bright for Victor Harbor and the Business Victor Harbor Board had been working towards developing a more vibrant, diverse and year-round robust economy.
"We are doing this collaboratively with our local council and state and other representative bodies in our region," Mr Richards said.
"We at all times represent the business community's best interests and all of our Board members work for you on a voluntary basis giving their time and vast business experience.
"We look forward to announcing a new chairperson in the very near future."
