On Sunday, January 19, the Granite Community Band will welcome the Onkaparinga City Concert Band to Victor Harbor for a special bushfire relief concert to be held in the Rotary Arts Tent on Warland Reserve Victor Harbor.

Granite Band president Bill Lowe said there was a small window of opportunity to use the empty tent space following the Rotary Art Show, specifically, from 5pm on Sunday.

"Ten months ago we booked the venue and six months ago we invited the Onkaparinga Band to join us. Less than a fortnight ago we decided to make it a bushfire relief concert with all proceeds going to the Kangaroo Island Relief & Recovery Bushfire Fund," Bill said.

Granite Community Band will open the concert, followed by the Onkaparinga City Concert Band who will present a program of music not to be missed. Last year they won First Place in the open B Grade Concert Section of the State Band Championships. The concert will conclude with the bands combining to bring a finale of three pieces.

Doors will open at 6pm for a 7pm start. Admission will be via donation at the door. Tea and Coffee will be available via a coffee van and cold drinks and a sausage sizzle will also be available. You will need to bring a chair or blanket as no seating is provided.
