With no Saturday pennants this weekend due to the GSBA Champion of Champions 4's being played, the situation remains static across all divisions until we get back on the greens next week before another break the weekend after.

On January 20, the Club held the SHAW Family Invitation 4's, which was well patronised. Twenty eight teams taking part on a rather unexpectedly fine day, after the overnight downpour of some 40mm of rain, which initially threatened the day, but by the morning all fear had disappeared.

Lunch provided by the hard working crew of volunteers once again was superb.

There were number of winners on the day, starting with 1st game winners being; L.Jaquier, M.Sekulitch, M.Dodds and B.Trenorden, followed by 2nd game winners; G.Dutton, J.Anderson, M.Price and P.Ratcliffe.

The Port Elliot Bowling Club held its Australia Day 'True Blue Trophy' competition on Monday, January 27 and it was once again a huge success.

The trophy was donated by Sue Bridgwood and her late husband Roger (who was club president at the time).

Competition for the trophy is played every Australia Day - with an accompanying true blue feast of pie floater in green pea soup, sausage sizzle and lamington.

Competition is keen and the game is played in festive spirit.
