Understanding a customer's needs and endeavouring to fill those needs is a salient obligation for Mr Menswear owners Alan and Bev Kluske.
The pair have operated the Victor Harbor-based clothing store for more than three decades now, and continue to meet exigency of men and women, both young and old.
Since its beginning in April 1985, Mr Menswear has stocked a wide range of quality brands and products, including the well-known RM Williams range, Gazman and Jag - just to name a few.
It caters for the large man, with sizes up to 6XL, and has everything from comfortable casual clothing, through to work wear and formal attire - including a good range of sports jackets and suits.
But it's more than just a great selection of outfits that keeps customers returning, according to Alan.
"I think our point of difference is customer service," he said. "Our staff are very friendly, and conscious of our customers' needs and have good product knowledge to help provide those needs. We enjoy a bit of fun, which most customers seem to welcome."
Appreciating the friendly atmosphere of South Coast businesses such as Mr Menswear is extremely important, especially if locals want to continue to enjoy having a selection of retail stores, workshops and outlets to choose from.
"If people do not shop local, businesses will close," Alan said. "It is not easy to run a small business and provide goods and services to locals with so much competition by major stores, and online shopping. I can assure you most local businesses try very hard to keep local customers happy."
By supporting local businesses people are, in turn, supporting their local communities with some of the profits injected back into non-for-profit organisations, charities and sporting clubs.
Over the years Mr Menswear has sponsored a range of local clubs, including three bowling clubs; two football clubs; two rotary clubs; the Surf Life Saving Club; golf clubs; and far too many local events and projects to name.
Alan has also chaired several committees, helped with forming Victor Harbor Business and is an Encounter Bay Rotary Club member.
