In 1995 Tatachilla Lutheran College accepted its first students and now in 2020 it will celebrate 25 years of offering education to the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Over the schools 25 years of education, there has been no shortage of high achieving students an passionate teachers and support staff.
Tatachilla Luthern College Principal, Cain McDonald who has held his position for the last five years said the school has an emphasis on teaching and learning practises which are enriching and engaging for the students.
Explaining that "the teaching and support staff are 110% committed to ensuring that every child really achieves success in their own individual way," he said.
Students like 2019 Dux of the college, Tully Doddridge and founding student, class of 1999, Sally Cupit agreed with this.
Tully said her educational life at Tatachilla would be drastically less consequential if it wasn't for the glorious teachers and staff who authentically enrich each lesson with knowledge, passion, spirit and warmth.
"They have shown me what it means to be completely and utterly devoted to your craft. What it means to put others before yourself," she said.
"They are the reason why I achieved so highly and the reason why I never took the glorious community that surrounded me for granted."
While Sally, who graduated 20-years-ago from Tatachilla expressed that it really was the teachers who made such a difference.
"I'm proud to be an ex-student because it is a school that started strong with its commitment to quality education no matter what resources were to hand, and has continued to grow in its strength and ability to offer a quality education," she said.
Adding that good teaching lies not in fancy facilities and equipment, but in building connections, working together, encouraging problem solving and believing in your students.
