A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after a car was found alight at the Dump Beach car park at Hayborough on Tuesday afternoon, February 11.
Police and fire crews were called to Investigator car park, off First Avenue, about 3.45pm were a white SUV was on fire.
Black smoke billowed from the car and white smoke followed as the fire spread to nearby grass and scrub, but it was quickly extinguished by Metropolitan Fire Service crews.
A Pennington woman was arrested nearby and charged with theft and arson, and is expected to face Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 12.
Investigators are trying to find out if the car was stolen, and it is currently being forensically examined by police.
