The first Probus Club of Port Victor Combined meeting of 2020 was a barbecue tea at Bay Village in January.

President Bill Reddin welcomed members and visitors to the second meeting in February, where it was noted the club lost two valued members in Wally Curtis and Norm Shaw in recent weeks.

Bill's theme for the day was "Tell the people that you love, that you love them, at every opportunity". Chris Kirby and Jacqui Howard were inducted as members.

In lieu of a member profile, Ken Buckley spoke about a visit to Cobbold Gorge in Queensland. The gorge is accessible via a guided tour from Cobbold Village in a four-wheel-drive bus then into the gorge in a narrow flat-bottomed boat.

Guest speaker was Pat Uppill, a true local with ancestors on her mother's side of the family, the Jaggers, and her father's side, the Mayfields, both arriving in the area in 1839.

Pat's love of local history was evident in her address, "History of Port Victor". Accompanied by old photos, members were taken on a tour of Victor Harbor between 1837 and 1894 with much of the early construction taking place.

Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 10am at Carrickalinga House, Victor Harbor. Activities are also underway.
