The Southern Vales VIEW club are enjoying an exciting year as they celebrate their Diamond Jubilee - 60 years of supporting disadvantaged students across the State.

There are more than 300 VIEW Clubs around Australia open to women of all ages. VIEW offers a friendship network, providing fun and a sense of purpose for members through supporting the education of disadvantaged Australian children.

As a valued part of The Smith Family, VIEW members help to change the lives of young Australians in need through fundraising, volunteering, advocating and sponsoring disadvantaged students on The Smith Family and Learning for Life program.

On Thursday, March 12, The Governor of SA, Hieu Van Le and Mrs Lan T. Phuong Le, hosted a reception for SA VIEW Clubs at Government House where he paid tribute to the volunteers.

Similar receptions were held throughout other States. Four members of Southern Vales attended and enjoyed a glass of champagne on arrival, followed by speeches and delicious canapes. They were then invited by his Excellency to view the opulent public rooms.

At their monthly meeting at The Alma Hotel in Willunga, on Friday, March 13, the VIEW club was treated to a wonderful presentation entitled 'Passion, Determination and a Glass of Champagne', a member's love affair with Egypt. A surprise performance of belly dancing by two of her friends was a highlight as well as a display of beautiful costumes.

The Southern Vales VIEW Club welcomes women of all ages. For information on joining VIEW, please contact our Secretary Chris Horsman, mobile: 0438 131 049, email: chrishorsman528@gmail.com.
