Vehicles, farming equipment lost in Nangkita shed fire

A vehicle, motorbike, farming equipment and a workshop have all been destroyed in a fire at Nangkita on Saturday, May 16.

Country Fire Service (CFS) crews were called to a property on Nangkita Road about 2.25pm, a CFS spokeswoman said.

"A passerby called Triple Zero (000) when they noticed numerous adjoining sheds and surrounding yards on fire," the spokeswoman said.

The 35 volunteer firefighters who arrived on board seven CFS firetrucks found the sheds fully ablaze, and they worked to contain the fire to the sheds and surrounding yard.

While firefighters were able to save the nearby house from damage, unfortunately a vehicle, a motorbike, a workshop and farm equipment were destroyed.

The estimated damage bill sits at around $150,000.

Fire cause investigators deems the blaze to not be suspicious.
