To help highlight some of the best local eateries across the region, the Alexandrina Council has developed a comprehensive 'Local Food Guide', giving visitors with hungry tummies a great resource.
The most obsessive foodies, to those just looking for a quick bite have all the information they need at the touch of their fingertips, with the guide available on council's website.
Developed to help businesses who have been struggling since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the guide has already proved a big hit.
As visitors begin to return to the region and dining restrictions are lifted at cafes and restaurants, council is doing all it can to promote and support businesses.
This plan seems to be working so far, with an influx of visitors last weekend bringing a huge economic boost to the region, with eateries being the big winners.
Lines to bakeries and cafes are extending out the doors and the local food guide is driving increased foot traffic.
An Alexandrina Council spokesperson said they were delighted to see visitors return to the region which is open to explore.
"Returning visitors to our region will help many of our local business to stay open and bring vital money back into our economy," the spokesperson said.
"Council encourages visitors to support local businesses and operators by bringing an empty basket or esky and purchasing regional produce.
"Council's Local Food Guide lists local food businesses in the region that are open and providing great value food, take-away and delivery options."
