Firefighter injured while battling blaze at Aldinga Beach glass manufacturer

A volunteer firefighter has been injured while battling a blaze at Aldinga Beach on Thursday morning, May 21.

Country Fire Service (CFS) and Metropolitan Fire Service crews were called to the scene of the fire on Aldinga Beach Road just after 7am.

While firefighters kept the fire to the rear of the glass manufacturing business, it also spread through the roof.

One CFS firefighter was injured while helping contain the incident. A CFS spokeswoman said the firefighter had twisted their knee.

An electrical fault in the office is believed to have caused the fire, which in turn caused about $150,000 of damage, but Fire Cause Investigators will confirm once their examination is complete.
