The City of Victor Harbor has approved a member contribution of $14,866.67 to the Southern and Hills Local Government Association Draft.
Member contributions total $91,217.02 for 2020/21.
The six Constituent Councils of the Association are Adelaide Hills Council, Alexandrina Council, Kangaroo Island Council, District Council of Mount Barker, District Council of Yankalilla and the City of Victor Harbor Council.
The Southern and Hills Local Government Association (S&HLGA) forecast a deficit budget of $68,884.70 for 2020/21.
The Transport Plan Project will be funded from reserves and will require no council contribution, while the Public Health Plan has been deferred, as has the Resilient Hills and Coast Officer Project with the SHLGA.
The Executive Officer will continue to implement the Climate Change Adaptation plan.
City of Victor Harbor elected member Andrew Robertson questioned the benefits of being a member to the association.
"I would like to know as a council what we get out of being part of the Southern and Hills Local Government Association," Mr Robertson said.
CEO Victoria MacKirdy spoke of the positives of being a part of the S&HLGA.
"It is important, as it is the mechanism to access state and federal funding in areas of health, transport and climate strategies," Ms MacKirdy said.
