The City of Victor Harbor has endorsed two applications for funding under the Victor Harbor Community Grants Program 2019/20 for a total amount of $1445.

The recipients were Victor Harbor Men's Shed - $500 towards the funding for Work Health Safety Training for Supervisors and the Openlight Community Garden Victor Harbor - $945 to purchase gardening tools and equipment.

The 2019/20 program opened on February 1, 2020 with the closing date for applications being March 31, 2020.

Five thousand dollars was allocated in the 2019/20 budget for the distribution as grants.

Council's Community Grants Program is funded to assist not for profit community groups and organisations in the planning, co-ordination and provision of community services to improve the quality of life, independence and well-being of people within Victor Harbor.

Applications were assessed on May 4, 2020 by a panel consisting of the Mayor Moira Jenkins, council's elected member nominees to the Fleurieu Region Community Services Advisory Committee Cr Marilyn Henderson and Cr Carol Schofield and Council's Manager Community Services Leann Symonds.
