Since 1984, council has permitted community groups to erect storage sheds on the land next to the Council Works Depot located at 99 Canterbury Road Victor Harbor.
The site does not provide power or water so therefore the sheds are for storage purposes only. Current licenses expire on June 30, 2020.
This reduction is in recognition of the not-for-profit status of the clubs and the limited facilities available at the site.
The Friends of the Victor Harbor Library currently receive a 100 per cent fee reduction in recognition of the fact all money raised through their book sales are returned to the Library.
Although, there have been applications by other community groups to erect additional sheds at the site, approval is not appropriate at this time as there is limited space available and before any potential development occurs, council intends to undertake a review of the strategic direction of the entire area.
Licence fees for the groups are South Coast Choral and Arts Society $1590 reduced to $159, Rotary Victor Harbor $1360 to $136, Rotary Encounter Bay $883 to $88, Lions Club of Victor Harbor & Port Elliot $860 to $86, Zonta of the Fleurieu Peninsula $135.50 to $13.50 and Friends of the Victor Harbor Library $140 to nil.
