With COVID-19 restrictions now easing, Adare Uniting Church has announced that Sunday services will recommence this week, on August 2.
This will mark the first time members of Adare have been able to meet together on Sunday for a full service, since lockdown began in March.
During this time, the Adare community has held together strongly through phone calls, zoom meetings, church council updates and recently, through a Thursday service which has been videoed and made available online.
During the pandemic, Adare has also experienced a change of minister.
Reverend Peter Moss has taken up the position of interim minister after the departure of the church's previous minister.
Reverend Moss has been kept busy with visits to many who have felt shut in by restrictions, and has been getting to know as many members of the congregation as he can.
Reverend Moss has taken three Thursday services and will be preaching at this week's Sunday service at 9:30 am, which will also include Communion.
All government requirements will be adhered to; social distancing, seating, no greetings before and after the service, and an attendance record will be taken.
Church Council chairperson Peter Manuel recently officially welcomed Reverend Moss to Victor Harbor on behalf of the congregation.
