Elderly woman assaulted by cyclist, police seek information

Police are seeking information from the local Victor Harbor community following an assault, in which an elderly woman was allegedly attacked by a cyclist.

At about 7am last Sunday morning (August 30), a woman in her 70s was walking her dog along the footpath of The Esplanade near Island Street.

A man riding a bike along the same footpath threatened the woman, then rammed his bike into her, pushing her backwards and causing her to fall over.

The woman was assisted by a couple who were passing by, with police believing they may be able to assist with the identity of the male suspect.

The elderly woman broke her wrist in the incident has since been treated in hospital.

Police are seeking the two people that assisted the injured woman to come forward and contact police.
