In a much anticipated encounter last Saturday, the Breakers U16 JSL side hosted top of the table and undefeated Adelaide City.

Breakers were almost at full strength and were up for a big game against a side with whom they had drawn 1-1 with, in their most recent encounter.

Hard, physical football was on show from the first whistle, and it was Breakers who struck first following relentless pressure from Loizi, who forced a mistake and scored a nice goal.

In the second half, City came out firing, but the Breakers defence held strong. As the game went on, City's defence began to fall apart and Breakers managed a further two quick goals again off the boot of Loizi, scoring his third hat-trick of the season.

City showed their class to pull one back soon after, before scoring a second from a corner to make things interesting. They desperately searched for an equaliser but were denied at every opportunity by Breakers who finished strongly to claim a great 3-2 victory over the state's biggest club.

The Breakers U16s have now played a total of 12 games, winning 9, drawing 2 and only having lost 1.

Despite the great result, Breakers still sit in third spot on the ladder but are only two points off top spot.

This weekend the Breakers travel to town to take on Adelaide Thunder.
