Happy couple: Ross and Christine Fatchen recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.

Ross Fatchen and Christine Matthews of Hayborough, recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary, coincidentally with a cruise on the very same vessel on which they first met.

The couple were married at Port Pirie Uniting Church on September 3, 1994 and have been happily married since.

Celebrating their 26th anniversary on September 3, 2020, the couple climbed aboard the Captain Proud Paddle wheel vessel at Murray Bridge.

Over 27 years prior, Ross and Christine had met aboard the very same boat on a Christian singles cruise on the Port River.

"History does repeat itself at times," Mr Fatchen said.

"It was a wonderful occasion to celebrate with my lovely wife, and it was great to be aboard the very boat that we met on all those years ago."

In another coincidence, the organiser of the singles cruise on which Ross and Christine met, is now their neighbour and friend, living two doors down from the happy couple in Hayborough.
