Back by popular demand, the Fleurieu Woodturners will once again put on a show at Mitre 10 Port Elliot, this Saturday, December 12, from 9 am to 3 pm.
In October, members of the local woodworking group demonstrated their skills in woodturning and carving at Mitre 10, after their stall at the Port Elliot show was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Committee member Doug Collins said this was a real blow at the time, but the feedback to the recent event had been so positive, the group was gearing up again.
"The show offers a perfect opportunity for the club to show and sell some of the many wooden items we make, both beautiful and practical," Mr Collins said.
"We were so grateful back in October, when Mitre 10 offered their venue for us to demonstrate the skills of our members."
The club, whose membership comprises about one third women, will demonstrate a wide variety of skills, including wood turning, wood carving on a larger scale with Arbortech Tools and whittling on a smaller scale with knives and chisels.
Many experienced hands will be on deck to answer questions and offer tips and tricks.
A wide range of handmade quality, wooden art and gifts will also be available for sale, and could make perfect Christmas gifts.
