Fleurieu Region Community Services Advisory Committee Membership was addressed at a Yankalilla council meeting in 2021 with council accepting the nomination of Bridget Fox and Brenton Trezise as proxy, for the position of community member representative on the committee.
The the tenure of this appointment commences in February 2021 and concludes at the next council elections in 2022.
The Fleurieu Region Community Service Advisory Committee has been established by City of Victor Harbor as a Section 41 Advisory Committee for the purpose of assisting to improve the quality of life, independence and wellbeing of the community by supporting a regional approach between the City of Victor Harbor and the District Council of Yankalilla in the planning, development, and co-ordination of community services that respond to current and emerging regional community service needs.
Specifically, the role of the committee is to advise on planning, development and implementation of regional community service programs, regularly monitor and review the operations of regional community service programs and make recommendations on the development of the programs, identify current and emerging regional community service needs and make recommendations on priorities for future planning and service development and facilitate regional advocacy and support for responses to local community services issues, and in particular local initiatives with regional significance.
Councillor Davina Quirke has in the past been one of two District Council of Yankalilla elected member representatives and resigned from the committee at the November 2020 meeting of council. The other elected member representative on the committee is Cr Leon Zarins.
Claire Taylor is the current staff member representative from the District Council of Yankalilla, with Julianne Rilstone as proxy.
Meetings are currently held in the Victor Harbor Council offices on the second Tuesday of the month (excluding January).
