The Victor Harbor City Band are bringing music back to the south coast and are gearing up for a return to performances.

The band will hit the stage at 2pm on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20, performing at the Victor Harbor Recreation Centre.

Having been unable to perform in 2020 due to COVID-19, the band has been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to bring music back to the community.

During this layoff, the band's committee has been working hard to ensure its performers are ready and its events are 'COVIDSafe' compliant.

About 30 band members from across the Fleurieu will hit the stage, ranging in age from teenagers through to people in their mid-80's.

Several ushers will be on site to ensure COVID-19 procedures are followed and ticket numbers will be reduced to maintain correct social distancing requirements.

Bandmaster Brenton Osborne said the band could not wait to hit the stage once more.

"The Victor Harbor City Band has been rehearsing for the past three months to prepare for the annual In-Concert performances," he said.

"We have garnered a wide variety of musical styles into a performance that is sure to delight the audience".

General Admission tickets are $15, or $10 for students. They can be purchased at the door or via Swan's Pharmacy, Victor Harbor. Those interested are encouraged to book in advance, due to capacity restrictions.
