Prepare for bushfire season with CFS

The Country Fire Service (CFS) will hold numerous workshops across the Fleurieu during October and November to help members of the public prepare for the upcoming bushfire season.

October is Bushfire Action Month, making it the perfect opportunity to figure out what you would do in the event of a bushfire.

CFS regional community engagement officer Eve Keam said an easy way to learn more about bushfire preparedness was to attend a CFS Community Program event.

"Living in South Australia means that you will either live, work or travel through a high bushfire risk area," she said.

"Preparing for fire doesn't have to be hard or take up too much time. It's just about doing a few things throughout the year to keep you, your family and your home safe.

"You and your family's safety and survival during a bushfire will depend on how prepared you are, and the decisions you make."
