The Great Southern Badminton Association (GSBA) held its annual end of season presentation dinner on Saturday, October 9, where players and members celebrated the conclusion of the 2021 season.

Trophies were presented on the evening by several of the GSBA's following life members: Glyn Squires presented the runner-up trophies to Victor Podiatry Centre's; Lochlan Hodge, Amanda Stevens, Brett Vermuelen, Jacob Dugmore, Lyn Hodge, Luke Hodge, Rodney Beswick, Allan Brown and Norm Scott.

Maureen Dugmore presented the premiership trophies to the 2021 Premiers, McDonald's-Victor Harbor's; Dale Sheridan, Estelle Brayford, Simon Brayford, Duncan Andrews, Gavin Daniell, Bohdi Sheridan, Sandie Sierke, Adam Daniell and Joe van Dalen. The players with the individual highest average scores in each grade were also acknowledged and were presented with their trophies by Allan Brown and Allan Tonkin.

Men's A Grade: Yulius Potter, undefeated in singles and a season doubles average of 19.44 points per game. Women's A Grade: Emma Walker undefeated in singles and a doubles average of 19.64 points.

Men's B Grade: Singles: Jacob Dugmore 20.75. Doubles: Simon Brayford 20.41. Mens C Grade: Singles: Matthew Farmer 19.00. Doubles: Brett Vermuelen 20.35. Ladies B Grade Doubles: Sandie Sierke 19.43. Mens "A Doubles Only Grade:" Gavin Daniell 20.52. Mens "B Doubles Only Grade:" Bohdi Sheridan 19.68. Juniors Grade: Adam Daniell 19.41.

Jean Merritt presented The Graham Fuller trophy to Jacob Dugmore and the Heather Fuller trophy to Estelle Brayford. Jean also presented junior players Jordan Daniell and Millie Walker with stars of the future trophies.

Sandie Sierke presented thank you certificates to this season's sponsors; McDonald's Victor Harbor, Victor Podiatry Centre, Cardall Conveyancers, TerryWhite Chemmart-Hayborough, Tonkin's Sports, OJ Computers and Fleurieu Milk Company.

The GSBA is very appreciative of their generous support of the club. The GSBA also acknowledged Investigator College School Victor Harbor for their ongoing support.

The wooden spoon also resurfaced for the second consecutive season with Gavin Daniell and Matt East taking pride in presenting it to Tonkin's Sports team members: Jannette Novice, Aaron Drummond, Shayne Drummond, Tim Mignanelli and Joe van Dalen. (Praveen Sacaran and Hamish Rogers both absent).

The gym will be open every Tuesday during the summer for social badminton between 6pm to 9pm. All are welcome to attend. Call Tim on 0431 041 666.
