On Friday night, nine South Australian athletes travelled to Perth for the WA v SA battle.

Representing South Australia was Victor Harbor's own Fred Zziwa. Taking on the current Featherweight Australian champion it was to be Fred's toughest test yet.

Rounds 1 and 2 were very tight with nothing in the match going into the third round.

Fred was then able to land a clean left hook flooring his opponent, backing that up with a quality uppercut resulting in another 8 count on his opponent.

This resulted in Fred taking the overall win in a quality display of boxing.

Team SA went on to win the battle five bouts to four.
