The Super Netball season will start in March next year to accommodate the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The 2021 season opened on May 1 but next year's campaign has been brought forward to commence on March 26 - so Diamonds players are properly prepared for the Games, which begin in late July.
Australia were shock losers to England in the gold medal match at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
The date for the Super Netball grand final, as well as the fixtures, are still to be finalised with the league continuing discussions with clubs and new broadcaster Foxtel, after signing a five-year deal.
Netball Australia boss Kelly Ryan said the league had balanced its commitment to deliver a 60-game season in 2022 with preparation for the Commonwealth Games.
"We're thrilled that a start date has been locked away, now our clubs and stakeholders have a date to work towards and fans can start to get excited for the start of the season," Ryan said in a statement on Thursday.
"The Commonwealth Games is one of the biggest stages for our sport, and we have brought forward the season to ensure the Australian Diamonds and international athletes have the best possible preparation."
