Nominations are now open for the 2022 Citizen of the Year Awards. The City of Victor Harbor is encouraging individuals and community groups to make a nomination.

There are four award categories including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year and Award for Active Citizenship.

The Citizen of the Year Awards are a great way to formally recognise and celebrate the efforts made within our community.

The nomination process is quick and simple with nomination forms found at www.victor.sa.gov.au/coty or collect from the Council office at 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.

2022 Australia Day Awards are held on January 26 each year nominations for the City of Victor Harbor 2022 Australia Day Awards commenced on October 1 and conclude on November 24 in the four categories.

Council establish a 2022 Australia Day Awards Selection Panel, which consists of two elected members and up to three community representatives, to assess the nominations that are received.

At the September council meeting Mayor Moira Jenkins, Cr Carol Schofield, Cr Andrew Robertson and Cr Marilyn Henderson were nominated for the two positions.

A secret ballot to determine the council member representatives for the selection panel was held and the successful nominations were Cr Henderson and Cr Schofield.
