About 100 members and guests attended the Victor Harbor RSL's annual Christmas Dinner, held on December 3.

The night out was an opportunity for community members to come together and celebrate the year that was 2021, while enjoying a meal and a theatre show, at the Roos Club in Victor Harbor.

The meal was cooked by the Boulevard Cafe staff and included roast turkey and ham or lamb shanks, and a choice of two desserts.

A performance of movie themes from the 1920s to 1970s was performed by the group Lights Camera Action.

Two of its five members are South Coast Vets members and RSL members.

More music was played over dinner by Peter Clayton.

In the lead-up to the dinner, the RSL sold raffle tickets at the Victor Central Shopping Centre, with big prizes on offer.

The major prize was a garden trolley filled with goodies kindly donated by community businesses and wineries and distilleries from McLaren Vale.

The raffle was drawn at the dinner, and the winner of first prize was Michael Wilkins, of Goolwa, who shared the prize with his large family for Christmas.

The second prize winner was Gordon Curtis, of Encounter Bay.

A metal Rising Sun artwork was auctioned off at the dinner and Derek 'Rhino' Andrews was the lucky recipient.

The RSL Club will be hosting monthly dinners on the first Friday of the month, starting in February.

It will be at 6pm for 6.30pm and bookings are essential on 0474 302 988.

The club also hopes to host music and dinner nights.
